Thousands of people struggle with addiction and mental health. Having personal experience with addiction, I made a decision years ago to not allow my addiction to define who I am. My never-give-up mindset didn't allow me to feel sorry for myself or make excuses for why I couldn't achieve my goals or aspirations. I surrendered to God over 4k days in row. While I never gave up seeking God's help, my 10-year journey of trying to get clean taught me patience, how to overcome adversity, how to compartmentalize my emotions, and I trained my mindset to stay focused on my goal of sobriety and I never gave up.

Did I have to make enormous sacrifices in order to get my life back on track in early recovery? Yes. I set attainable goals, and I slowly but surely began to revert back to the Tim that was a Division I Football Player (University of Pittsburgh). I didn't take "no" for an answer and most importantly, I allowed myself to be vulnerable; this included recognizing my strengths, but most importantly, recognizing my weaknesses.

While I can't speak for others, I know with absolute certainty that my success today is attributed to my ability to learn from massive failures in life. Had life been a 'perfect' layup of opportunities, I would have never became a healthcare executive in the addiction industry and the Mindset Apparel Brand would not exist. I thank God everyday for never giving up on me and I am forever grateful to my family and everyone who believed in me by giving me opportunities to prove my value - whether it be promotions at work, or believing in the MA Brand.

What does this mean for you? Regardless of your background, your struggle with addiction and/or mental health, life's trials and tribulations, never allow your mindset to be defeated. You and you alone have the ability to inspire your mindset to be great.

While you are capable of accomplishing anything you set your mind to, know that success doesn't come overnight. It doesn't come from get rich schemes and it surely doesn't come as a result of wanting nice cars, big houses, or anything material that amounts to nothing at the end of the day and doesn't provide fulfillment. Find your passion, establish your goals, set milestones to achieve these goals, and never give up.

Inspire your mindset to achieve the impossible - enjoy the journey!
